Beginning Voice 

Ages 8 – Adult
Beginning voice is designed for those who have had little or no vocal training. Vocal exercises, proper breathing technique and knowledge of different muscles in production of tone are emphasized. Lots of fun songs of all styles are taught so that the budding singer can discover how proper vocal technique can make singing easier and more enjoyable.

Intermediate Voice

Ag​es 12 – Adult
Intermediate voice is intended for those who have had previous vocal or choral training. Designed to prepare students for advance study, techniques required to learn the Bel Canto method of singing will be explored. Vocal repertoire in languages other than English will also be presented. Performance will be encouraged.

Advanced Voice 

Ages 14 – Adult
Advanced Voice is offered by audition only and may be taught by all voice faculty. The focus is on vocal technique and development of the advanced singer. A variety of literature will be studied including French and Italian art songs. A comprehensive study of German lieder as well as solo material in oratorio, opera, operetta, musical theatre and jazz will be offered. In addition, advanced performance technique will be explored. Performance and formal competition are strongly encouraged at this level.

Vocal Coaching 

All Ages
Vocal coaching is an add-on service available to current voice students. Vocal coaching does not focus on learning singing technique, but rather focuses on preparing a song (or songs) to be performed by working with a coach. Students run-through repertoire with their coach (who is also an accompanist) and receives feedback and advice about the best ways to execute their performance piece. Whether you need assistance making sure the song is learned correctly, assistance with lyrics, guidance through arrangements, movement, emotion, or character. Working with a vocal coach allows a student with frequent performances to work through those pieces without sacrificing their technical studies with their voice instructor.  

Vocal coaching is available a la carte in addition to quarterly group coachings.
