Susan Harwood
Piano and Beginning Voice
Susan Harwood received a full tuition Presidential Scholarship for piano at Oakland City University. During her time there, she majored in piano performance under Carolyn Spindler and minored in Theatrical Voice under Glory Kissel Heyde. She specializes in classical piano and also enjoys performing Cinematic/Epic arrangements and Blues.
Susan has worn several different hats within the musical field- she has worked as a music director, worship leader, accompanist, teacher and mentor. She spent time working with inner city youth living in poverty through music therapy and youth choirs. Several of her students have performed at the world -renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City. Susan has been teaching 15+ years and focuses on technique and theory for piano and vocal performance. Although lessons are focused on productivity and growth, she also makes it a point to make sure students have fun! She is a light-hearted Kentucky girl and a proud native of Henderson, KY, home of the WC Handy Blues Festival. She is very excited to be a part of the Leopold family and a new resident of Tampa! |
