Music is meant to be heard and performed. Recitals, studio classes, mini-recitals, and other performance opportunities provide a tangible way to do just that. Performing provides the recognition and heart-felt praise a student deserves for hard work and persistent practice. The lessons learned from preparing for an upcoming recital are invaluable life skills. It takes dedication, diligence, drive, and time management to prepare for an upcoming performance.
Performing gives one a sense of accomplishment and provides a boost of confidence. Participation in recitals also promotes a sense of community and an opportunity to get to know fellow students, to cheer them on and learn from their performances. At the Leopold School of Music, students are encouraged to perform and share their gifts.
Our voice studio classes are instructor-led and feedback-based performance opportunities. Voice students are invited to workshop their latest songs, real-time feedback is given by their private instructor and students are given the opportunity to make any adjustments or fixes as needed. This is a wonderful way for students to perform in a low-pressure environment and learn from their peers. Studio classes are open to students only- this is not a public performance event.
Our studio recitals are designed to be performance checkpoints throughout the year. Students perform in small groups of 8-12. Many studio recitals are theme-based (i.e. Halloween, Disney, Love Song). This event is open to families and friends.
Our MainStage recitals are studio-wide recitals that take place at the Friday Morning Musicale. Our Christmas recital occurs every other year, and our yearly spring recital takes place early May.
