Musicianship

Musicianship - Virtual Group Class

Our Musicianship classes are considered an add-on to current students' private lessons. Pricing is just an additional $10 per week, $360 total tuition for the whole school year. With no more than 5 students per class, students will enjoy the interactive and social nature of this class while also enriching their musical literacy. This class meets once a week for 45 minutes for 36 weeks.
Musicianship for High Schoolers : This course is an online group class offered to current Leopold students in high school who wish to expand their music theory and ear-training skills. This course will foster overall musicianship for piano, voice, and guitar students alike. This is an excellent choice for students who wish to improve their sight-reading and sight-singing skills, for those that need to prepare for musical study at the collegiate level, or for those students that struggle with rhythmic and aural skills.

Musicianship for Middle Schoolers- This course is an online group class offered to current Leopold students in middle school who wish to expand their music theory and ear-training skills. This course will foster overall musicianship for piano, voice, and guitar students alike. This is an excellent choice for students who wish to improve their sight-reading and sight-singing skills, for those that struggle with rhythm or pitch, or students that wish to create a musical foundation beyond just the technical skills required to become a fine singer or instrumentalist.

Private Ear- Training

It is intended for those students who wish to fine tune their aural skills as a singer or instrumentalist in a one on one setting. It is also an excellent way to improve sight-singing, aural skills, and melodic and rhythmic dictation for those students preparing for musical study at the university level. Private ear- training is taught by Will Thomas Scecina. Ear training and music theory can be taught separately or together, depending on the student's goals.

Private Music Theory

In private music theory, students learn the structure of music through compression of music notes, scales, chord structure/progression, and musical form. It is not required for a student to play an instrument, though it is encouraged. Music theory is most beneficial for those students who wish to study music at the collegiate level and wish to prepare themselves for rigors of college theory. Music theory is also beneficial for those students interested in song-writing and music composition.
