Angela Tompkins Padron is a student enrolled at the University of Tampa as a double-major in Performing Arts and Communications. At the age of 6, she began piano lessons with Laila Helt and swiftly started to perform, and win awards and Superior rankings in Piano Solo, Concerto, Theory, and Sight Play Divisions in the National Federation Music Club for 6 years. Angela then studied under the tutelage of Russian prodigy, Aza Torshekoeva for 2 years.
Besides her training in piano, Angela seriously pursued ballet for 7 years at All American Classical Ballet School where she extensively performed as a soloist, and was bestowed with numerous scholarships and accolades. She danced with the Sarasota Ballet on a full scholarship for the summer, was awarded Top 12 in the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix, Top 15 in America’s Dance Competition, and was offered scholarships to dance with several ballet companies.
At the end of her Junior Year of High School, Angela responded to a lingering desire to study voice and musical theater and began training with Blake Leopold. Since then, she has placed First in the Heritage Arts Association Spotlight on Talent and Fourth in the Florida Suncoast Opera Guild Competition. Angela also studied acting, played the lead role as Laurey in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, and was nominated for the coveted Spotlight Award in Theater at the Patel Conservatory.
